History

Founded in 1973, John Claymore established the presevre after purchasing the 245 arces from the state of Arkansas. Upon its 245 acres are winding trails lush with all varieties of trees, wildflowers, and shrubs. Woodlands, wetlands and meadows of native grasses, springs, songbirds, and a meandering stream share the land with wildlife.

The Flying Frog Nature Preserve covers over now 3,245 acres of land located in Faulkner County, and is home to many different species of critters that can fly, walk, crawl, and slither. Home to more than 193 species of birds, numerous wildlife, buffalo, cattle, and a pristine mountain and forest environment. Hike on many different trails, and see for yourself the beauty of the Ozarks Mountains. We strive to protect our natural wildlife and habitat for future generations. Come visit today, and see the beauty of Flying Frog Nature Preserve!
